The number of ways you can use Social Networks seems boundless: connecting to former colleagues and old friends, sharing up-to-the-minute news, creating a community of common interest, marketing, sales, recruiting, investor relations, and so on. At the same time, there is the downside: endless time wasted, brand risk, and identity theft. With so much emphasis – from just about everywhere – on Social Media, it seems apropos to list some of the more effective tips and perspectives:

This week’s action plan: The very nature of Social Media is to share ideas, links to resources, then use these as a basis for discussion. This week, send a link to your favorite tip from this list to your colleagues and friends: it will improve their experience, and because the web is social, it will also improve yours.
