No, you don’t need to remember your high school poetry, but it is possible to find insight wherever you look.

Not enjoyment, and not sorrow,
Is our destined end or way;
But to act, that each to-morrow
Find us further than to-day.

This excerpt is from Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s “The Psalm of Life”. Even in the 1800’s, there was a recognition that to actually get something done, you have to… actually do something. He continues…

THIS WEEK’S ACTION PLAN

Most people use to-do lists for various purposes. Choose an item that has been on your list for just a bit too long, and schedule it in your calendar for this week. As Sam Levinson the comedian says, “You can’t make footprints in the sands of time sitting down.”

Poetic Insight:  Interestingly, this poem speaks to the importance of making an impact and leaving a legacy.  As relevant today as when it was originally published, in 1838.
